Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9832008A1] The invention relates to electrochemical flow cells with thick-film sensors. According to the invention, an electrochemical flow cell comprises two electrodes situated at a distance from each other and a flow channel in between said two electrodes, which is connected to an inlet and an outlet. The spacer between the two electrodes is formed by an isolating layer manufactured by a thick-film technique, a flat opening in the isolating layer and the thickness of said isolating layer determining the internal volume of the flow channel. The electrodes are embodied on substrates and also manufactured by a thick-film technique. The cell is produced by gluing together two cell halves. Preferably the isolating layer can consist of a non-conductive SMD adhesive which simultaneously ensures adhesion.
