Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0953662A1] To produce the roller clothing, for loosening fiber materials, the wires (3) or wire sections are stamped to form the teeth (8) before fitting to the ring (1) or circular comb carrier. The teeth are hardened to increase their strength together with electrochemical deburring to give the required shape when the wire is bent at the ring (1) or circular comb carrier, before the surface hardening. The prepared toothed wire is anchored to the ring (1) or circular comb carrier. The sawteeth of the wire clothing are coated with a diamond/Ni cladding layer. The wire (3) is coiled into a spiral before the teeth (8) have their surfaces hardened, and then drawn on to the ring (1). The dimensions of the wire spiral coils allow the wire to be pushed on to the cylindrical ring (1) or fed round a groove (2). The wire has a structured foot with a side groove and a shoulder to match the groove (2) profile with a firm anchor action. The coiled wire clothing can be anchored to a circular comb carrier by a twin-component adhesive.
