The two flat sides of the key shaft (2) have longitudinal grooves and or ridges which differ from the longitudinal profile of the tip part. The shaft at the key-bit has at least one key notch (5') in the key-bit in the tip part (4).for controlling a tumbler pin. The tip profile is thinner than the shaft profile so that it is contained inside the shaft profile.

Die Erfindung betrifft die Gestaltung von Zylinderkernen für Schließzylinder mit einem variablen Stufenprofil und den dazu kompatiblen Flachschlüsseln. Durch diese Gestaltung wird erreicht, daß die Anzahl möglicher Codierungen um ein Vielfaches gesteigert wird, ohne daß zusätzliche Sperrelemente verwendet werden. Weiterhin wird die Kopierfähigkeit des Schlüssels erschwert. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, daß der Zylinderkern Ausnehmungen an dessen Vorder- und Hinterseite aufweist, in denen sich Profilplättchenpaare (4 und 5) befinden. Der Schließzylinder weist die Profilmerkmale des Grundprofils (6, 7, 8, 9) auf. Das vordere Profilplättchenpaar (4) enthält ebenfalls diene Profilmerkmale und zusätzlich die Ergänzungsmerkmale (6a, 7a, 8a). Das hintere Profilplättchenpaar (5) enthält zusätzlich zu diesen vorgenannten Merkmalen die Ergänzungsmerkmale (7a und 7b). Das hintere Profilplättchenpaar (5) kann in Richtung auf den vorderen Bereich des Zylinderkerns zu beliebig anordbar sein. <IMAGE>
