Abstract (en)
The device comprises a single metal housing (8), fed by two exhaust pipes (17a,17b), containing two catalytic converter units (14a,14b) and two silencers (15'a,15'b), positioned alternately so that each silencer lies alongside one converter and end to end with the other. The converters and silencers are held in place inside the housing by supports (13a,13b,16a,16b) and are fitted with guides (18a,19b,20a,20b) for the gas flows.

Le pot catalytique (4) comporte, à l'intérieur d'un premier tronçon (11a) d'une enveloppe métallique (8) externe, entre une extrémité d'entrée de l'enveloppe (8) et une zone médiane, un premier catalyseur (14a) et un premier silencieux (15'a) et dans un second tronçon (11b) de l'enveloppe (8), entre la zone médiane et une extrémité de sortie de l'enveloppe (8), un second catalyseur (14b) et un second silencieux (15'b), ainsi que des moyens (13a, 13b, 16a, 16b) de maintien des catalyseurs (14a, 14b) et des silencieux (15'a, 15'b) dans l'enveloppe métallique (8) et des moyens (18a, 19b, 20a, 20b) de canalisation des flux gazeux (17a, 17b), connectés aux catalyseurs (14a, 14b), aux silencieux (15'a, 15'b) et aux conduits de la ligne d'échappement (2a, 2b, 5a, 5b), de manière à imposer au premier flux gazeux (17a) un parcours de circulation à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe (8) traversant successivement le premier catalyseur (14a) et le second silencieux (15'b) et au second flux gazeux (17b), un parcours de circulation traversant successivement le premier silencieux (15'a) et le second catalyseur (14b). <IMAGE>
