Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19819050C1] On accelerating, engine torque follows a preordained profile between a lower value (Mu) and an upper value (Mo). Near the lower value, the torque profile passes through a local maximum or peak (Mmax). Between this value and the upper value, there is a local minimum (Mmin). The propeller shaft is subjected to a momentary peak torque. Though the engine torque is then reduced, it remains in the shaft as a result of inertia. The engine then exerts the upper value of torque.
