[origin: EP0953767A2] A hydrostatic machine's (1) pistons (5) move in cylinders (4) in a lifting motion cycle. A regulator body (12) has low and high pressure control openings to connect the cylinders in an alternating cycle with low and high pressure ducts. To apply a pre-compressed pressure medium to the cylinders, it also has an additional opening (20) connected to a controlled pre-compression device triggered by a controller (24) to ensure continual, regular pressure in the cylinders.
