[origin: FR2771375A1] The procedure involves the volumes of materials being initially compressed between two compression surfaces and then driven between two bands of wrapping film. The procedure uses a number of stages. In a first loading stage (9) the volumes of material (21) are arranged one after the other between sheets of wrapping film (18) to leave a length (L) of wrapping material between consecutive volumes. Each volume and the sheets of wrapping film are placed between two compression surfaces. In the second compression stage (10) the compression surfaces are moved together in the direction of transport to move the wrapping film and volumes in a direction transverse to the direction of transport. In the third wrapping stage (11) the sheets of wrapping film are connected one to the other. Before or during the time that the sheets of film are connected to each other from a volume V1 in the wrapping stage, the distance is adjusted between the rear end of the volume V1 and the front end of the volume V2 placed after it. It is adjusted to be equal to the length of wrapping film (L).
