Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19701326A1] The invention concerns the use of proteins of plant origin which are at least largely water-insoluble but swell and form a film on contact with water, said proteins being used as bonding agent or bonding agent constituent for temporarily stabilizing soil surfaces against erosion caused by wind and water and for temporarily stabilizing plant granulates based on fine-particle solids of natural and/or synthetic origin. Suitable bonding agent mixture components are further water-insoluble and/or swellable polymer compounds of natural and/or synthetic origin, for example of the polyvinylacetate type and/or its copolymers with vinylesters of higher fatty acids such as vinyl laurate. The protein-based bonding agents according to the invention can be applied in solid powder form or in the form of aqueous dispersions to the soil surface.
