[origin: EP0955411A1] The vehicle (1) has a set of road-going wheels (3) and a set of rail-going wheels (4). The rail-going wheels are driven by a hydraulic motor. The grinding appliance (2) has a separate set of rail-going wheels (6) and is coupled to the vehicle. A hoist and transporter unit (7) at the rear end of the vehicle lowers the grinder to the rails, lifts it, and places it on the vehicle. The rail-going wheels of the vehicle are positioned between the road-going wheels. There are a front and a rear pair of rail-going vehicles, and each pair is located on a separate hydraulic rocker arm (5).
