[origin: WO9706710A1] A system for remotely heating an eyelash curling device (10). The system includes a remote heating apparatus (50) having a heated projection for contacting a flexible compression strip (32) of the eyelash curling device (10) and adapted to heat the compression strip (32) while not heating the corresponding compression blade (18) or rest of the eyelash curling device (10). The remote heating apparatus (50) also includes means for attaching, securing, or otherwise engaging the eyelash curling device (10) during the heating process. The heating apparatus (50) may optionally include a thermostat (56) for heating and then maintaining the compression strip (32) of the curling device (10) to a desired temperature or within a desired temperature range, means for turning the heated projection component (50) on or off, means for actuation of the heating means when the eyelash curling device (10) is attached, and means for indicating to the user when the compression strip (32) has reached the desired temperature. The eyelash curling device (10) may be optionally adapted so that the compression strip (32) is thermally insulated from the rest of the eyelash curling device (10), adapted so that the compression is maintained within the desired temperature range for a larger period of time when disengaged from the remote heating apparatus (50), and means for activating the remote heating apparatus (50).
