[origin: DE19654286A1] The invention relates to a driving device for a motor scythe, comprising a two-stroke engine having an injection valve (12), a coupling placed in a coupling housing (15), air intake and air exit devices, a fuel pump (17), a starter housing (18) and possibly additional devices and equipment. In order to achieve a compact arrangement of the parts of the cited driving device with optimal cooling and combustion, the invention provides that the coupling housing (15) and the starter housing (18) be placed on opposite lying sides of the two-stroke engine and that the injection valve (12) with its injection nozzle be oriented towards the cylinder head or the spark plug (11).
