[origin: DE19703973C1] A switching device including a latch for opening and closing the main contacts, a leading under-voltage-auxiliary switch and an actuating element (1) serving to drive the latch and for closing the under-voltage auxiliary switch which with it leading moves a pawl lever (5), belonging to the latch, into its closed position. A rigid coupling exists between the actuating element (1) and the latch, by means of which, during actuation, movement excursion (stroke) of the actuating element (1) is transmitted to the latch for the switch-on (closure) process.
