[origin: DE19703006A1] The invention relates to a socket for a relay comprising contact chambers (25,26,27) with open insertion slots (15,16,17) on the top side of the base body to accomodate flat pin terminals (5,6,7) and into which contact jacks (35) can be inserted from underneath. Said contact jacks (35) have snap-in pins (39) extending on both sides and which are snapped into the grooves of the contact chambers. The contact chambers (25,26,27) with the inserted contact jacks (35) are narrower than the insertion slots (15,16,17) and are arranged in the form of alternating zigzags in relation to the ends of the insertion slots. The oppositely formed snap-in grooves (40,41) are also arranged as zigzags in the separating walls. In comparison with aligned contact chamber arrangements, the inventive device enables a larger number of standard contact jacks to be inserted in standardized contact chambers in the same amount of space.
