Abstract (en)
An apparatus for non invasive estimation of the arterial blood pressure of a living subject, comprising: first means (70,SA2,SB2) for obtaining the velocity of propagation of a pulse wave; second means (72,SA3,SB3,SA4,SB4) for obtaining at least one between the heart rate and an area defined by a volume pulse wave; third means (80,SB5) for estimating, according to a predetermined relationship between (A) blood pressure, and (B1) pulse wave propagation velocity and (B2) at least one of (B21) heart rate and (B22) pulse wave area, the blood pressure, the predetermined relationship being defined by a numerical expression including a plurality of predetermined coefficients; and fourth means (82,SA8,SB7) for selecting one group of coefficients which corresponds to a blood pressure of the subject. <IMAGE>
