Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0956974A1] The drive mechanism has gears (2,3) for driving the stapling device and the gathering chain and are connected together by a replaceable connecting part (60) with at least two fixed gear ratios. The stapling device is used to staple together printed sheets transported on a gathering chain. The connecting part comprises two chains (20,21), one of which is stationary. The two fixed gear ratios are a 15 and 21 inch pitch for the gathering chain.
