[origin: EP0959218A2] The room dividing wall has movable dividing wall elements (2,2',2'') driven by drive mechanisms (8). At least some of the dividing wall elements each have a distance measurement arrangement (12-20) for determining the instantaneous distance to a reference point. The measured distance is passed to the drive mechanism, which moves the wall element to the reference point and stops it when the measured distance is null.
