Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0959319A2] A security lock for a bolt action rifle has a cylindrical insert fitted into the breach in place of the bolt mechanism. A radial locking tag (8) in the insert grips into a retaining recess inside the breech. The tag is spring loaded to provide a snap fastening and is retracted by inserting the security key into the lock cylinder (6) in the end of the insert. The insert has keyways (15) to grip a catch on the end of a security chain (17) to secure the weapon to a fixed mounting (18) and thereby prevent it from being taken away.
