[origin: DE19701119A1] The invention relates to a cosmetics brush for applying powder or liquid cosmetics with a wire core and a brush part. The wire core comprises spirally entangled wire segments. In order to form the brush part, a plurality of fibres and bristles are pinched between the two ends of the wire segments, so that they stand out radially from the wire core in different directions. At least one wire segment (3a, 3b) has a noncircular cross section (6) and/or varies in size, and/or in the shape of the cross section (6), in the lengthwise direction of the wire.
