[origin: EP0960989A1] A method for producing concrete blocks for use in facades, covering layers etc. uses two densities of concrete; a dense mix (2) is used for most of the block and a light mix for the cladding layer (3). The dense mix is loaded first into the moulds, taking at least 90 percent of the volume after vibrating into place. The lighter cladding layer is added before the main block has set, to bond to the main block. A variation of the design has a light layer on both the underside and top of the blocks. The light layer can be worked to shape the outer appearance of the blocks.
