[origin: WO9832869A1] The present invention relates to recombinant expression vectors carrying a gene encoding a therapeutically active polypeptide, which gene is under transcriptional control of a ubiquitin promoter. The invention also relates to the use of a ubiquitin promoter to direct in vivo expression of therapeutic genes after transfer of such genes to the central nervous system.
