Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0962308A2] The method involves transporting two foils (4,6) from which the sides of the bags will be formed. Holes are formed in a base foil (8) at intervals corresponding to the width of a bag while transporting it. The base foil is folded along the center line parallel to the transport direction (52), whereby the holes are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center line. Hole measurements are performed. The side foils and folded base foil are stacked. The foils are joined so that where the base foil is sandwiched between the side foils, the side foils are only joined directly to each other via the holes. The joined layers are cut so that a side edge joint region is divided between each two foil bags. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
