[origin: EP0962412A2] The arrangement has motor-driven supply roller (1) for delivering foil material with a delivery power, a traction arrangement (67a,b) for pulling the foil material, and a consumption sensor between the roller and traction arrangement with which the roller is controlled depending on the consumption of foil. The sensor contains at least one fixed direction changing roller (19) and at least one sensor roller (21) whose distance to the direction changing roller varies with the difference in delivery and traction power. A sensor device detects the distance changes and increases the storage roller drive speed if the distance falls below a first defined distance, and reduces the speed if it exceeds a second predefined distance. An Independent claim is also included for a method of conveying foil.
