Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0962599A2] The device has a sensor unit to detect the bowl content and for automatic dosing of flush water dependent upon the content. The unit is a gas sensor (22), to recognize fecal gases. The sensor signals are processed in a control unit (24), which operates a valve (16) to supply a suitable optimum water volume for a flush to the lavatory bowl (14). A second sensor (26) determines whether the lavatory is in use and when it is left by the user, and generates a signal accordingly. The gas sensor is located on/in a suction tube (18) connected to the flushing water pipe (10).
