The device has a valve lever (5) with a tilting axis (9), which is parallel to the pivot axis (8) of the cam shaft and can be dynamically displaced relative to the cam shaft (4) along a path (10). Due to this, the valve lever is activated for valve operation via the roller (7), which is controlled only from approx. the front to the end section of the cam tip (14) of the radial cam (3). The additional variable valve opening angle ≤ 120 degrees is ≤ 1,5 with variable valve strokes, when the valve lever is a rocker arm.

Für einen variablen Ventiltrieb (1) für eine Brennkraftmaschine mit bei konstanten Öffnungswinkeln erzielbaren variablen Ventilhüben wird zur Erzielung variabler Ventilöffnungswinkel bei besonders kleinen Ventilhüben vorgeschlagen, daß die mit der Nockenwellen-Drehachse (8) im wesentlichen parallele Kippachse (9) eines Ventilhebels (5) relativ zu einer Nockenwelle (4) längs einer Bahn (10) derart gesteuert dynamisch verlagerbar ist, daß mit verlagerter Kippachse (9) der Ventilhebel (5) über eine lediglich etwa vom Anfangsbereich bis etwa zum Endbereich der Nockenspitze (14) eines Steuernockens (3) gesteuerte Rolle (7) zur Ventilbetätigung aktiviert ist. <IMAGE>
