The oven has a cooking chamber with an opening that can be closed by a door (7) and a cooling fan which forces a cooling air flow into the atmosphere out of an opening in the front area of the oven above the cooking chamber opening. A flow guidance arrangement (27) near the outlet opening is activated by opening the door and directs the air flow downwards.

Bekannt ist ein Backofen mit einem Backraum mit einer Backraumöffnung, die durch eine Tür verschließbar ist, und mit einem Kühllüfter, der einen Kühlluftstrom aus einer Ausblasöffnung im Frontbereich des Backofens oberhalb der Backraumöffnung ins Freie drückt. Um mit einfachen Mitteln zu verhindern, daß beim Öffnen der Tür einer Bedienperson heiße Luft bzw. Wrasen entgegenströmt, ist im Bereich der Ausblasöffnung ein Strömungsleitmittel vorgesehen, daß durch das Öffnen der Tür aktiviert oder freigegeben wird und das den ausgeblasenen Kühlluftstrom im Bereich der Backraumöffnung nach unten leitet. <IMAGE>
