Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0962743A1] The cutter comprises a pyrotechnic expansion tube (16) fitted in a gap between two components (10, 18) of which at least one is to be cut along a line (12) by the force of the expanding tube. The component to be cut consists of a nonmetallic material, and a cutting member (32) with at least one cutting edge (34) is incorporated between it and the expansion tube. The cutting member can be made from a deformable or indeformable material and is situated wholly within the space (28) between the components.
