[origin: DE19702242A1] The invention concerns a de-icing agent which substantially comprises: a) between 87 and 99.45 wt % of an alkali metal halide and/or an alkaline earth metal halide; b) between 0.5 and 10 wt % of an alkali metal silicate; and c) between 0.05 and 3 wt % of an alkali metal phosphate. The agent can be used in solid form (powder, granulates and the like) or in the form of an aqueous solution. It ensures a short thawing time and protection against corrosion, in particular for steel.
