Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9838396A1] The invention relates to a polygonal, especially rectangular, parallelpiped building block made from transparent plastic and configured from two hollow halves (1) with facing parallel lateral edges. Coupling elements (3, 4, 5, 6) extend substantially perpendicularly from the peripheral flanges (1'') of said parts to connect the building block with adjacent blocks and the coupling elements on the opposite faces of any two structural members are interlockable. One attachment (3 or 5) with a groove (3' or 5') preferably open towards the visible surface (1') and running parallel with the visible surface edge and one attachment (4' or 6') with a nose preferably remote from the visible surface (1') and running parallel to the visible surface edge are provided as coupling elements at a mutual distance on each peripheral flange of each half-block. Said attachments (5, 6) are elastically deformable on two mutually facing sides of the building block and adjacent blocks can be engaged with a positive and non-positive fit by inserting the noses (6') into the grooves (5') on a narrow side of the block in the direction of the course of the groove on one side and by interlocking of the noses (4') and grooves (3') on the adjacent narrow side at the front.
