Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9831439A1] The invention relates to a snowboard binding comprising a base plate (1) to be fixed to a board (38), a holding plate (8) which can be fixed at an adjustable angle in relation to the base plate (1) and a first coupling element (17) mounted on said holding plate. A second coupling element (28), which is connected to the sole of a shoe (35), can be engaged with the first coupling element by rotating the shoe around an axis that is perpendicular to the plane of the snowboard. The invention further provides for elements for detachably locking the engagement position. The aim of the invention is to create a snowboard binding with a rotating click-in movement in which the starting position is easy to locate and can be varied widely, the click-in movement requires only little physical effort, and functional reliability is not impaired by snow and ice. According to the invention, the snow board binding solves these aims by means of cam-like elements (24) on the first coupling element (17), which in the engagement position are held by hook-like elements (29) arranged on the second coupling element (28), and by means of a support element embodied on the second coupling element in the form of a convex surface (20).
