[origin: WO9839242A1] The invention relates to an elevator car (1) for an elevator which can be moved by a lifting device along vertical guide rails (34), comprising walls (2-8) assembled from sheet-metal parts, a roof (19) and a floor (10.1). For greater strength, said sheet-metal parts have at least partly bevelled edges and form profiled shapes and rigid plates. Some of the profiled shapes constituting the walls form support frame elements (8), which together with horizontal floor supports (9), embody a rucksack frame. The support frame elements (4, 8, 9) are part of the elevator car and vice versa.
