[origin: WO9837293A1] The invention relates to a parking device (1) for motor vehicles, comprising parking areas, arranged on several levels (5), to which are assigned movable parking platforms (10) which carry the motor vehicles. Each level (5) has one free parking area and, at the level of the vertically extended free areas, a lifting device (31) for vertically moving the parking platforms (10) so that cars can be driven in and out of the parking areas. The parking areas and free areas are arranged around at least one central column (2) and are defined by segments (7, 8, 9) positioned longitudinally one after the other in the direction of the column (2) circumference. On each level (5) the parking platforms (10) are detachably coupled to one rotating device (11) each. The parking platforms (10) in the free segment (9) can be selectively coupled to the lifting device (31) when the connection to the rotating device (11) is uncoupled.
