[origin: WO9838528A1] A distance or level measuring system in accordance with the present invention is employed to measure the distance between a predetermined location and a material having a surface. The inventive system comprises a transducer (10), a heater (18) for heating the transducer so as to prevent the formation of condensation in an area adjacent the transducer and between the transducer and the material surface, and an electrical control circuit (80, 80') coupled to the heater for controllably energizing the heater.
