[origin: EP0965368A1] A damper for incorporating in a ski binding has a fluid filled chamber (1) into which is pushed a damper piston (K) and which is connected to an expansion chamber (G) by a variable flow valve (V). The valve element (7) can be a simple piezoelement connected to a dedicated power supply. The flowrate through the valve is regulated by a control circuit in response to movements of the damper. A sensor (12) on the damper provides accurate position signals and the piezoelement can be pulsed at varying rates to control the flowrate.
