[origin: WO9840574A1] The invention relates to a sound-proofing surface component (10), wherein a cardboard surface element with closely adjacent parallel grooves (34, 36) is filled with a filling material consisting of powder and sand or granulates, the ends of said grooves (34, 36) being sealed. The cardboard surface element is preferably provided with undulated strips (14, 16) which are connected to each other in such a way that the grooves (34, 36) of the adjacent undulated strips (12, 14) cross each other. Preferably, the cardboard surface element has three undulated strips (12, 14, 16), wherein the middle undulated strip (12) has a lower peak than the two other undulated strips (14, 16). The filling material (38) contains a sand material which is preferably made of quartz sand (40, 42), closely interlocking with the grooves (34, 36), thus remaining immobile. The filling material (38) also contains quartz powder (44, 46) in-between the quartz sand (40, 42) which is relatively mobile.
