[origin: DE19710318A1] The invention relates to a directional-control valve with an axially displaceable control piston (5) inside a valve housing (23) and a travel sensor (17) which is arranged on the valve housing (3) in order to detect the position of the control piston (5). Said sensor (17) comprises a travel sensor tube(27) which is pressure tight and sealed on one end (29) and has a directional transmitter rod (33) plunging into the other end. Said directional transmitter rod (33) is secured to the control piston (5) and extends through the area connecting the inside of the valve housing (23) to the travel sensor tube (27). The invention includes a seal (37) that exposes a damping gap placed in the connecting area (21) which forms a throttle point enabling oil to flow into the travel sensor tube (27).
