[origin: FR2773604A1] The invention concerns a headlight capable of generating a light beam of predetermined configuration, comprising a light source (10), an elliptical mirror (20) in the proximity of a first focal point of which is located the light source, a lens (40) placed in front of the mirror. The invention is characterised in that the mirror comprises at least two zones located side by side and capable of forming in a focal region of the lens hot spots preformed in width, and the spots mutually overlap in a horizontal direction. The invention is applicable to beams, in particular low beams, in motor vehicles.
