[origin: EP0967057A2] The cutter has a two-part table to hold the material before and after cutting, and a side stop (22) movable at right angles to the cutting plane (15) of the knife (9) against a return force, which is active in direction of the cutting plane. The side stop is positioned near the knife, relative to its lower dead center. On this side, the stop has an end section, which is positioned relative to the wedge shape of the knife or the knife support (8), or at an acute angle to the cutting plane. The side stop is located on the table (3), a stand (2), or a portal frame (4) of the appliance.
