Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0967078A2] The printing machine comprises a frame, a first plate cylinder movably mounted in the frame, a first rubber cloth cylinder towards and away from which the first plate cylinder can be moved, a second rubber cloth cylinder forming a press nip with the first rubber cloth cylinder, through which the web of printable material can be passed, and a second plate cylinder which can be moved against the second rubber cloth cylinder. The machine has a first operation mode where the first plate cylinder is moved against the first rubber cloth cylinder in order to allow double-sided printing of the web, and a second operation mode where the first plate cylinder is moved away from the first rubber cloth cylinder to enable the printing plate on the first plate cylinder to be replaced whilst the web is being printed by the second rubber cloth cylinder. An Independent claim is also included for a similar printing machine with three operation modes.
