The machine has a frame (7) and is for layers of sheets (2) having a connecting fold (3) etc. It has a contact member (20) to engage into a contact plane (11) and a contact zone (10,12-15) on the inside of the fold, and/or a conveyor (21) to draw-off the sheet layer by engaging on its outside in a contact zone. The device also has elements to engage into the sheet layer mainly outside of the contact zone of the contact member, which is still in contact with the sheet layer.

Zur Faltung von Blattlagen bildet das Falzschwert (20) einen Kamm, dessen Kammlücken (27) während der Falzpressung geschlossen und während der Übergabe des Falzes an einen nachfolgenden Förderer (21) geöffnet sind. Dadurch können Förderglieder (36) nur im Bereich der Kammlücken an der Blattlage angreifen und diese ohne Anpressung gegen das Falzschwert (20) leicht abziehen. Zur Steuerung der Lücken ist eine vollmechanische Nockensteuerung (30) unterhalb der Arbeitsebene (10) vorgesehen. <IMAGE>
