Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0967391A2] The method involves using a high frequency generator (4) to supply a heating rod (2) of at least one spark plug arranged in a cylinder head (1) of a combustion chamber with a high-frequency voltage. A thereby produced ion current between the heating rod and the surface of the cylinder head is measured and evaluated. The ion current is preferably evaluated with an evaluation circuit (3), especially to determine a pressure in the combustion chamber. An Independent claim is provided for an arrangement for monitoring the combustion process.
