The cooking oven has an oven housing closed by an oven door(5), provided with holders for a number of shelves supporting the food to be cooked, one of the shelves (9) incorporating an electric heating element coupled to the supply voltage for the cooking oven, the shelf holder (7) acting simultaneously as the current feed element. An Independent claim for an oven shelf for an electric cooking oven is also included.

Bekannt ist ein Elektrobackofen mit einer durch eine Tür verschließbaren Backofenmuffel, in der an einem Halterungselement ein Gargutträger halterbar ist, der ein eigenes Gargutträgerheizelement aufweist, und mit einem Stromzufuhrelement, über das das Gargutträgerheizelement mit der elektrischen Spannung des Backofens speisbar ist. Um den Aufwand für die Kontaktierung des Gargutträgerheizelementes gering zu halten, dient das Halterungselement für den Gargutträger zugleich als das Stromzufuhrelement. <IMAGE>
