[origin: WO9841840A2] The invention concerns a method of measuring particle sizes by measuring the attenuation of radiation after passing through a defined measuring section containing a dispersed system. According to the invention, the temporally fluctuating transmission signal is picked up with variable temporal or spatial resolution. These picked-up transmission signals are then subjected to a non-linear operation. The result of the non-linear operation is represented as a spectral variation, that is as a function of the spatial or temporal resolution, and evaluated.
