[origin: WO9842938A1] The invention relates to a retractable lock with a turning lever handle and a pinion suitable for driving a locking bar. The aim of the invention is to improve this lock in terms of simplifying production and assembly. To this end, the path of operation of the lever handle (15) is arranged so that it lies on a plane which is vertical to the door leaf (10). The pinion (20), which engages in the recesses (23) of the locking bar (22), is also positioned on the bearing axle (16) of the lever handle (15) in the trough (11) and in forming a free-wheel (27, 28) bridging the disengaging path of the lever handle (15), is directly coupled to the turning movement of said lever handle (15).
