[origin: FR2774158A1] A combined installation consists of at least one furnace (FM) fed with compressed air by means of a blower (S) and at least one air distillation apparatus fed at least partly by the blower (S) and supplying oxygen (O) to the furnace. The apparatus comprises at least one medium pressure column (MP) receiving the air at a pressure (P1) from the blower and at least one cryogenic turbine (T) releasing a part of this air from the blower and a mixing column (CM) supplying the oxygen and receiving the air from the blower suppressed by a suppressor (C) coupled to the turbine, in which the suppressor/cryogenic assembly (C-T) is coupled to an auxiliary assisting component (EM) which may be at least one electric motor. The method of using this combined installation is also claimed, notably to maintain in the mixing column (CM) a suppression of at least 0.3 asterisk 10<5> Pa with respect to the pressure (P1) at the outlet of the blower.
