The sick-room bed, to move the patient into a variety of positions, has a frame and a linkage lifting mechanism with coupled links (6,7). The linkage is operated by a drive with two drive sections (21,22). The mattress support (14) is held by the carriers (10,11) of the lifting linkage system at two lateral and horizontal displaced axes (12,13) at the head and foot ends of the bed, to be moved between extreme top and bottom positions. In the bottom position, the carriers (10,11) extend over the frame. In all movement combinations, the mattress support (14) is held away from the frame.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Krankenbett zur variablen Lagerung eines Patienten, mit einem Gestell (2), einem mit einem Koppelgetriebe (6, 7, 8, 9) versehenen Gelenkhubwerk (5), das von einer Antriebseinrichtung (20) mit zwei Antriebseinheiten (21, 22) betätigbar ist sowie einem Matratzenrahmen (14), der auf Tragelementen (10, 11) des Gelenkhubwerks (5) aufgenommen ist, wobei die Tragelemente (10, 11) im Bereich zweier paralleler, voneinander beabstandeter, horizontaler Querachsen (12, 13) angeordnet und zwischen einer höchsten und einer tiefsten Stellung heb- und senkbar sind und wobei die Tragelemente (10, 11) in ihrer tiefsten Stellung über das Gestell (2) hinausragen. Die Tragelemente (10, 11) sind im Bereich des Kopfbeziehungsweise des Fußendes des Gestells (2) angeordnet und liegen soweit auseinander, daß in jeder möglichen Lage des Matratzenrahmens (14) ein Abstand zwischen diesem und dem Gestell (2) besteht. <IMAGE>
