[origin: WO9938416A1] The invention relates to a shelf cross-bar comprising an upper flange (1), a web (2) and a lower flange (3). In addition to acting as a brace between two shelf uprights the cross-bar also has other functions. It provides an L-shaped supporting surface (13) as well as devices for fixing illuminating bodies and information signs. Said devices consist of recesses (24, 25, 34) in the lower flange (3). The lower flange (3) can also be fitted with a section (22, 33) which is not perpendicular to the web (2) and in which said recesses are embodied.
