Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9843532A1] The invention relates to a positioning device (40) for positioning a person's head for examining and/or treating the eyes, comprising a part against which the forehead rests (41) and a part on which the chin rests (43), and a unit for covering the eye sockets (24) which can be mounted on and removed from elements (50a, 50b) of the positioning device, preferably without the use of tools. This unit for covering the eye sockets (24) has an eye socket flap (25) which can be swung round in front of the socket of the eye not being examined or treated. According to a preferred embodiment, a support unit (71) with a surface on which the doctor can rest his or her little finger and/or the ball of his or her thumb is also provided. This support unit (71) is positioned especially on the fixing elements (50a, 50b) of the positioning device (40) which sustain the part against which the forehead rests (41). The inventive positioning device enables the doctor to carry out eye examinations and/or treatments simply and easily.
