[origin: WO9842766A1] Disclosed are solid epoxidized cycloaliphatic polyester resins containing, per molecule, at least two cycloaliphatic moieties of general formula (I) wherein R<1> and R<4> are hydrogen or methyl or R<1> and R<4> together are methylene, and R<2> and R<3> are hydrogen or methyl. The cycloaliphatic moieties are linked or cross-linked by di-, tri- or tetravalent groups while the terminal carboxylic functions are bonded to C1-8 alkyl groups. The epoxidized cycloaliphatic polyester resins are essentially free of monomeric compounds and especially suitable for powder coating. Also disclosed are binder and powder coating compositions containing the epoxidized cycloaliphatic polyester resins.
