[origin: EP0869159A1] The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a scratch resistant paint formulation, comprising combining a resinous binder, proteinaceous material, conventional additives and a solvent, and dispersing the combination obtained. In a further aspect, the present invention relates to the use of proteinaceous material for increasing the scratch resistance of paint films. In yet another aspect, the present invention relates to the use of proteinaceous material for adjusting, and preferably prolonging, the open time of a paint formulation film.
