Abstract (en)
An edging strip for ceramic tiles, e.g. for tiling steps, has a profiled edge (1) with an attached flange (11) which is laid onto a horizontal surface and is covered by horizontally laid tiles (6). The tiles locate against a lipped profile (12) near the profiled strip while another lipped profile (13), on the underside, locates the strip onto the edge of the vertical surface. The securing flange is provided with holes (17) to take threaded fasteners, or with a pattern of wider holes to key into mortar. The edging strip is produced by an extrusion process. The corners of the steps are covered by special corner sections.

Das Kantenprofilstück (1) hat ein Kantensegment (10), dessen Außenseite (16) einen Übergang zwischen zwei in unterschiedlichen Ebenen verlaufenden anschließenden Flächenabschnitten bildet. Das Kantensegment hat ein Querschnittsprofil nach Art eines Giebeldachs. An eine Innenseite des Kantensegments ist ein Ankerblatt (11) angeformt. Zu beiden Seiten (14, 15) des Ankerblatts (11) sind Überhänge (12, 13) des giebeldachartigen Kantensegments (10) ausgebildet. Der Winkel (α) zwischen dem jeweiligen Dachüberhang und der angrenzenden Ankerblattseite ist etwa rechtwinklig. Die Tiefe des einen Dachüberhangs (12) ist der Dicke einer anzuschließenden Keramikplatte (6) angepaßt. Diese Ausbildung gewährleistet einerseits eine zuverlässige und witterungsbeständige Verankerung des Kantenprofilstücks (1) und ermöglicht andererseits beliebige Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten der Außenseite (16) des Übergangs. <IMAGE>
